Haiti is a little island in the Caribbean sea. The capital is Port-o-Prince. Most of the children in Haiti that live on the road are in Port-o-Prince. Port-o-Prince is the biggest town in Haiti. Haiti is surrounded by Jamaica, Cuba, an many more.

In Haiti there are more children than you imagine. Half of them don't live under a roof, they live on the streets.. Most children land in the hospitals because of malnutrition. Malnutrition is when a child lacks the nutrients that its body needs.

Most of the people that do not live in Haiti have more working toilets than a whole town. 60,000 people share one toilet. Most of them 'go' in a hole and bury it when they are done. But what happens when it rains? all of the dirt washes up and the germs go onto the roads.

If you gave a child a drink of water they will probably die. Why? Because for water to be clean in Haiti you must boil it with wood and us charcoal to clean it. In Haiti only 3% of their forests remain. Most children don't get an education because they have to get water and clean it everyday.
